This question is asked on line, and then comes an offer for an almost see through and very inexpensive aisle runner. Well, I guess they figure it only needs to hold up for 1/2 an hour, right?
OK, I have an answer to this question. When you pay more, you get more!
Some of us have been guests at an outdoor wedding where unfortunately a quick wind gust have removed half the aisle runner. At an indoor ceremony, grandma's heal got caught in the tissue paper runner and she is pulling and ripping it up the aisle. The flower girl is tripping over the wrinkles. So, by the time the bride enters, the aisle runner is a rumpled mess!
There are many different qualities of aisle runners available and a good rule is the more you pay, the more you get.
Always get a fabric sample sent to you A few years ago, I met with a client/bride and she really liked the quality of our fabric and the custom wedding logo she and I designed together, but she didn't want to spend that much on this one item. She decided to order one but when it arrived she saw that it was more suitable for a table and not the floor, so that is where she used it. It looked great! She came back to us because of the quality.
